Xochitl’s Story
From Healthcare to The Babe Cave
Never did I think I’d end up being a full body waxer to now business owner. Growing up I dreamt of being a journalist or news anchor writing articles or doing some sort of public speaking. That quickly changed as I got older and I went the healthcare route.
I started at Citrus College, got my associates in health sciences and started thinking about getting a job with more flexibility so It would be easier to manage once I got into a nursing program.
Finding a Passion for Beauty & Skincare
I always had a love for beauty and skincare specifically so I enrolled in the esthetician program at citrus full time. I completed the program as fast as I could and got my license right away. At this point I was almost done with my pre-requisites for the nursing program at Citrus. I started applying at any and every salon I could find.
I stumbled across The Babe Cave waxing & skincare on good ol’ Zip Recruiter and submitted an application. The next week I followed up with my resume in person and met the some of the best people who have now turned into family.
I found myself so happy with my work environment and the people I got to be around daily.
Haily hired me on and taught me everything she knew about waxing and client relationships. Waxing was so fun and new for me to learn, I loved the challenge and working at the Babe Cave never felt like a job. It really is showing up to work and having girl talk all day! I set goals for myself for my first six months of and the rest is history. I found myself so happy with my work environment and the people I got to be around daily I started to question my career decision. I realized working in a hospital everyday maybe wasn’t for me.
Becoming a Business Owner
I took on waxing at the Babe Cave full time and I had no idea what I wanted for the future other than to grow in this industry and maybe have a salon myself one day. Fast forward 5 years and I have had the privilege of taking ownership of this shop!
The Babe Cave has grown to be what it is because of our incredible staff and even more incredible clients.
I am so excited to grow in this role as business owner and see what the next 5 years has in store for us. Thank you for stopping in our little shop and if you’re a long time client, thank you for all your support throughout the years.
